For two decades, Sportball relied exclusively on a franchise model to build its U.S. presence. The new Dallas-Plano site, which begins its inaugural season on October 10, 2026, serves as a direct operating hub and a testing ground for future curriculum and class formats. By establishing a corporate footprint, the company aims to refine its 'fun-first' approach to physical literacy before scaling those innovations across its wider franchise network.

Sportball Targets Texas Growth with First Corporate U.S. Hub
While Texas leads the nation in high school athletics participation, only 51% of youth ages 6 to 17 join organized sports teams or lessons. Seeking to bridge this gap, Toronto-based Sportball is launching its first corporate-operated U.S. location in Dallas-Plano this October, marking a shift in its American expansion strategy.

Texas remains the primary engine for this growth. The Dallas-Plano opening, followed by a planned Frisco-McKinney franchise in early 2027, adds to four existing Texas operations. CEO Quinten Griffiths noted that the move signals a long-term commitment to the U.S. market, specifically targeting parents who prioritize skill-building and confidence over early competitive specialization. Initial programming in Dallas-Plano will cater to children as young as 16 months, with sessions held at the Liberty Recreation Centre, Plano Day School, and Little Marvels Montessori.
