D'Angelo brings over 25 years of executive experience to the post, having previously served as the institute's chief operating officer. Her tenure at the non-profit subsidiary has been marked by a focus on high-stakes sectors including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing. Notably, she spearheaded the growth of the Healthcare Division, where she led efforts to modernize the New Jersey Health Information Network and achieve critical HITRUST and CMMC Level 2 certifications.

Jennifer D'Angelo Named Interim President of NJII
After seven years of driving organizational strategy and healthcare expansion, Jennifer D'Angelo has stepped into the role of interim president at the New Jersey Innovation Institute. Her appointment, effective September 21, 2026, positions her to bridge the gap between academic research at NJIT and the demands of the private sector.

In her new capacity, D'Angelo will work alongside NJIT Interim President John A. Pelesko to align university research with external innovation partners. Her agenda includes deepening collaboration across defense and tech verticals while leveraging NJIT’s faculty and talent pool to address industry challenges. Before joining the institute, she held senior leadership positions at organizations such as Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and Jersey Health Connect, establishing a career track defined by digital transformation and complex organizational management.
