Elabscience Enters Cell Selection Market with New Nanobead Technology

Houston-based biotech firm Elabscience Bionovation Inc. has officially entered the cell separation market with the launch of its EasySort Mouse CD4 Nanobeads. The product, which uses sub-40nm magnetic beads, is designed to streamline the enrichment of CD4+ cells for laboratory research while preserving cellular viability and native phenotype.

The new system utilizes dextran-coated superparamagnetic beads paired with high-affinity antibodies to achieve a reported cell purity of 95.2%. By keeping particle sizes under 40nm, the company aims to minimize the mechanical and chemical disruption often caused by larger magnetic beads, allowing researchers to proceed directly from separation to downstream functional experiments without additional processing steps.

Dr. Yang Fei, General Manager of Elabscience, noted that the product’s design focuses on maintaining the cell’s native state throughout the enrichment process. Internal validation and multi-batch comparative testing against existing industry benchmarks confirmed the kit’s performance, demonstrating at least 95% cell viability and consistent yields. This launch marks the culmination of a development cycle that began in 2023 when the company first established its proprietary positive cell selection platform.

Available under catalog number MIM011P, the beads are currently offered in 10- and 200-assay formats for use with mouse lymphoid tissues and organs. The release is intended to be the first in a broader series of positive selection tools, as Elabscience moves to expand its presence in the global cell isolation market through its existing international distribution network.
