Florida Polytechnic Maintains Top Regional Ranking for Sixth Year

The university’s latest performance highlights a strategic focus on STEM education and affordability, earning it the number one ranking for best value among public schools in the region. Dr. Devin Stephenson, the university’s president, attributed this consistent trajectory to the school's growing national reputation and its ability to deliver tangible career outcomes for graduates.

This academic success coincides with a period of rapid institutional expansion. Enrollment has reached a record high of 2,300 students, marking a 35% increase over the past two years. To accommodate this growth, the university recently introduced bachelor’s degrees in aerospace engineering and biomedical sciences, the latter featuring a pre-med track developed alongside the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine. Provost Brad Thiessen noted that these curricular updates are specifically designed to align with workforce demands and industry requirements.

Physical infrastructure is also evolving to support the larger student body. Construction is slated to begin later this year on a 138,400-square-foot Student Achievement Center. The facility aims to centralize professional development, career planning, and academic support services. U.S. News evaluated nearly 1,700 institutions for the 2027 report, utilizing metrics such as retention, graduation rates, and alumni earnings to determine rankings.
