The survey of more than 3,500 voters reveals that dissatisfaction with Democratic leadership is reaching a tipping point. While Schumer faces the highest level of opposition, 70% of respondents also signaled that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries should vacate his post. Support for primary challenges remains high, with 92% of those polled willing to back an opponent against Schumer in 2028, and 77% supporting a challenger against Jeffries.
Beyond personnel changes, two-thirds of activists expressed a belief that current party leaders are disconnected from the struggles of the working class. Joseph Geevarghese, executive director of Our Revolution, framed the data as a warning to the establishment. He pointed to the recent victory of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani as a blueprint for the future, noting that his platform of holding corporations accountable and lowering living costs resonated deeply with voters.
