The expansion follows a successful run of operations in Pinehurst, where the railway hosted high-profile events including U.S. Open charters and the popular Carolina Christmas Train. The Charlotte site, located at 409 East 35th Street, will serve as a hub for weddings, corporate functions, and immersive programming such as the brand's signature murder mystery excursions. While the initial arrival marks a preview, a more permanent presence is scheduled for March 2027.

Historic Railcar Experience Debuts in Charlotte's NoDa Neighborhood
A piece of railroad history is pulling into Charlotte as the Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway brings its vintage fleet to the NoDa district. Starting this October, the company aims to transform a collection of century-old passenger cars into a permanent destination for private events and community gatherings.
Central to the new venue is the Engine Room 87 Locomotive Bar. This distinct space features a self-pour tap system housed inside a locomotive, complemented by a rooftop deck and a bay window lounge. Although the bar will remain under wraps during the October 22 debut, the public is invited to tour the restored railcars during an open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors should note that the historic carriages are not wheelchair accessible, and all guests must sign a waiver before boarding.
