With $5.75 billion in fresh capital, Bessemer Venture Partners is doubling down on its commitment to artificial intelligence. The firm’s pivot to AI is built on a track record that includes investments in Anthropic, Perplexity, and Waymo. Since 2022, Bessemer has funneled $3 billion into more than 260 companies operating across infrastructure, foundation models, and agentic technologies. This capital injection reinforces their strategy of targeting both the foundational layers of computation and the application-focused tools that define the current market cycle.

Partner Byron Deeter noted that AI-native startups are scaling at unprecedented speeds compared to previous software eras. Beyond the technological shift, the firm is adjusting to a broader market reality: companies are opting to remain private for longer durations. According to Deeter, this trend represents a permanent structural change in the industry, necessitating larger war chests for venture firms to maintain their positions as companies mature far from public markets.
