A massive data security incident at Lincoln Investment Planning, LLC has compromised the sensitive personal records of thousands of clients nationwide. Lincoln Investment Data Breach Triggers Class Action Probe

The incident, reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on September 17, 2026, involves the Fort Washington-based broker-dealer and its affiliates, Capital Analysts of New England, Inc. and Capital Analysts, LLC. While the initial filing confirmed at least 1,867 victims in Massachusetts and 52 in Vermont, the scope of the breach extends across the country, potentially impacting a far broader base of employees and investors.

Exposed data includes financial account numbers, credit and debit card information, government-issued IDs, and highly sensitive health insurance records. Given the nature of the compromised information, victims now face a prolonged risk of identity theft and financial fraud. Edelson Lechtzin LLP is currently evaluating whether Lincoln Investment maintained adequate cybersecurity safeguards to protect this data. Attorneys at the firm are offering free case evaluations to determine if affected individuals have grounds for a class action lawsuit to secure compensation and accountability for the security failure.
