Canva and Monotype Expand Global Font Library by 1,000 Styles

The expansion brings the total library of Monotype-sourced fonts on Canva to more than 3,000. This update follows a surge in multilingual design activity, with Canva users translating over 17 million projects in 2025 alone. By curating a mix of serif, sans serif, display, and script designs, the two companies aim to move beyond basic character support, offering nuanced typographic personalities that allow creators to maintain brand identity across different markets.

Hindi, Bengali, and Vietnamese users see the most significant gains in the current rollout. The update introduces 99 Hindi font families, 72 for Bengali, and 114 for Vietnamese. Notable additions include typefaces like Colophon Foundry’s Basis Grotesque Arabic and Modular InfoTech’s Shree Devanagari. Since their partnership began in 2023, Monotype fonts have been utilized in over one billion Canva designs, highlighting the growing demand for diverse visual voices in global digital communication.
