Skydio Expands Autonomous Fleet with Fixed-Wing F10 and New Software
Moving beyond quadcopters for the first time, San Mateo-based Skydio unveiled the F10 Lightrunner fixed-wing aircraft at its Ascend 2026 conference. Designed for high-speed critical infrastructure inspection and emergency response, the drone achieves speeds of 100 mph and covers a 30-mile radius from a single autonomous launch point.
Alongside the hardware, Skydio launched Asset Command and Security Command, two platforms designed to integrate drone operations into existing industry workflows. Asset Command pulls data from GIS and CMMS systems to automate infrastructure inspections for partners like Chevron and Dominion Energy. Security Command focuses on site protection, providing live aerial feeds for security teams. These software suites, along with the F10, are scheduled for general availability in early 2027.
