Encompass Health targets Texas expansion with small-format facility
Encompass Health plans to deepen its footprint in Montgomery County, Texas, through a dual-project strategy. The operator will launch its first small-format inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Conroe by late 2027, while simultaneously developing a 60-bed replacement facility at its existing Woodlands campus to modernize local care capacity.
Simultaneously, the company is preparing for a long-term upgrade at its Woodlands location. The planned 60-bed replacement hospital will feature exclusively private rooms and upgraded amenities. Construction is scheduled to proceed while the current facility remains fully operational, with completion targeted for 2029. Craig Funk, group president of the company’s Southwest region, noted that the twin projects reflect a commitment to balancing new market entry with the modernization of existing infrastructure to meet rising regional demand.
