MUSQ Global Music Industry ETF to Cease Operations

Investors in the MUSQ Global Music Industry ETF face an impending exit as Exchange Traded Concepts moves to liquidate the fund by October 23, 2026. The decision follows a board-approved plan to wind down the portfolio, marking a definitive end for the music-focused investment vehicle on the NYSE Arca.

MUSQ Global Music Industry ETF to Cease Operations

The fund will officially cease operations on the Liquidation Date, with the final day of trading for its shares expected on October 20, 2026. New creation units will no longer be accepted starting October 19. During the final days of activity, liquidity may be restricted, forcing shareholders to rely on broker-dealers to exit their positions before the secondary market closes entirely.

In preparation for the wind-down, the fund’s management is shifting its strategy toward highly liquid assets and cash reserves. This transition means the portfolio will no longer track its original investment objective. Once the final liquidation occurs, remaining shareholders will receive pro rata cash distributions, which will include any accrued capital gains and dividends. These payouts are classified as taxable events, and the final net asset value will account for the costs associated with the fund’s closure.
