The festival has built its reputation by keeping the artist roster a mystery until the opening day, placing established international talent alongside emerging acts in unexpected settings. Beyond the music, the event functions as a deep immersion into the island’s culture, utilizing land and sea routes led by local experts. Over nine editions, participants have traversed more than 60 kilometers on foot, supported by collaborations with over 140 local businesses and 30 culinary professionals.

Ten Years of SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia in Formentera
With attendance capped at just 350 people, the SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia festival has spent a decade subverting the traditional music event. Returning to Formentera from October 2–4, the anniversary edition under the theme of (re)discovering Posidonia highlights a decade of secret lineups and intimate, environmentally conscious island exploration.
Sustainability remains a core pillar of the operation. The festival holds the distinction of being the only music event globally to secure TRUE Zero Waste Platinum certification for three consecutive years. Since 2021, the organizers have maintained a zero-emissions mandate, actively funding the Save Posidonia Project to protect the seagrass meadows critical to the Mediterranean ecosystem. Having hosted 83 concerts and 17 DJ sets since its inception, the project proves that large-scale cultural impact can thrive through radical intimacy and a commitment to local preservation.
