OneVest Links Schwab Onboarding to Wealth Operating System

Advisors can now initiate paperless account openings directly through OneVest’s platform, bypassing traditional paperwork cycles. By integrating Schwab Advisor Center’s digital onboarding into its wealth operating system, OneVest aims to replace manual data entry with automated workflows, allowing firms to choose between a full interface or modular plug-and-play connectivity.

The integration allows users to send secure digital envelopes for client approval and track status updates within minutes. Amar Ahluwalia, CEO and Co-Founder of OneVest, describes the development as an infrastructure play rather than a closed feature, noting that firms can integrate the connection into existing CRMs or portfolio management systems without abandoning their current interfaces.

Brian Green, Chief Product Officer at Merit Financial Advisors, noted that the change eliminates historical bottlenecks by cutting account opening timelines from days to minutes. The system handles various account types—including trust, joint, and retirement—without requiring advisors to re-key information into the Schwab portal.

Beyond simple digitization, the platform utilizes agentic workflows to pre-fill information and flag errors before documents reach the client. CTO Nathan Di Lucca characterized the move as a solution to the industry's underlying plumbing issues. The Schwab integration is available immediately, with modular options allowing enterprises to adopt specific components of the OneVest suite as needed.
