Explorance Launches MTM 10.0 to Bridge Corporate Skills Gaps

Chicago-based Explorance has unveiled Metrics That Matter 10.0, a platform update designed to move corporate learning beyond simple activity tracking. By mapping specific courses to skill taxonomies and capturing learner feedback, the software aims to provide tangible evidence that training programs are effectively addressing organizational competency deficits.

Explorance Launches MTM 10.0 to Bridge Corporate Skills Gaps

As businesses prioritize workforce development, learning and development teams often struggle to connect training hours to actual capability growth. The new update allows organizations to build structured skills taxonomies—including 30 standard benchmarkable categories—and link them directly to specific educational experiences. This shift enables L&D departments to move away from measuring mere completion rates toward analyzing which specific competencies are being mastered by employees.

Steve Lange, General Manager of Explorance Metrics That Matter, stated that the platform provides the tools necessary to prove training programs deliver real business value. The update introduces dashboard widgets for tracking top-performing courses and learner response patterns, allowing managers to export data for deeper organizational analysis. Michael Rochelle, Chief Strategy Officer at Brandon Hall Group, noted that this data-driven approach is essential for transforming learning departments from traditional cost centers into strategic business partners. MTM 10.0 is currently available to all existing Explorance customers.
