The updated platform addresses traditional liquid biopsy limitations by distinguishing between tumor-derived alterations and clonal hematopoiesis. By combining DNA and RNA analysis with whole-blood testing, the assay identifies tumor fractions that correlate with disease progression and treatment efficacy. Patients undergoing repeated testing will now receive results categorized into molecular response, intermediate, or progression stages, allowing clinicians to track treatment benefits in real time.
David B. Spetzler, President of Caris Life Sciences, stated that the integration of these technologies provides deeper biological insights for therapy selection. The system offers broad genomic coverage across more than 23,000 genes, utilizing sequencing depth up to 40,000x and approximately 600 million RNA reads. These technical improvements also include validated Human Leukocyte Antigen reporting and expanded pharmacogenomic data.
