Symmetry Partners Debuts International Momentum ETF

With top-performing global markets averaging nearly 27% annual returns over the last 15 years, Glastonbury-based Symmetry Partners is turning to a rules-based strategy to capture that growth. The firm launched the Symmetry Panoramic International Country Momentum ETF (ICMO) to provide systematic exposure to shifting regional trends.

The fund operates by tracking the MSCI ACWI ex-US universe, utilizing cross-sectional momentum signals to identify high-performing regions. Its portfolio structure is split: 75% is allocated to the top-performing individual countries based on six- and 12-month momentum data, while the remaining 25% is directed toward one of three international regions—International Developed, Emerging Markets, or the Total International Market—governed by the same signals.

David Connelly, CEO of Symmetry Partners, noted that the fund is designed to capture evolving market leadership, serving as a successor to the firm’s Symmetry Panoramic Sector Momentum ETF (SMOM) introduced last year. The strategy targets investors looking to augment traditional international core allocations or replace active strategies with a factor-driven approach. While the fund aims for capital appreciation, the firm stresses that it remains subject to standard market and foreign investment risks, including potential losses of principal.
