Liz Fowler Joins Upside Board to Scale Housing Stability Platform
Liz Fowler, the former director of the CMS Innovation Center, has joined the board of directors at Upside. Her appointment follows a $20 million Series A funding round for the Fort Lauderdale-based firm, which partners with health plans and employers to address housing instability across Medicaid and Medicare Advantage programs.
Upside CEO Jake Rothstein noted that Fowler’s expertise in payment models and health policy will be critical as the company expands its footprint into the employer-sponsored market. The platform utilizes dedicated Care Guides to manage housing placements, providing support from initial crisis intervention through long-term tenancy. For Fowler, the decision to join the board stemmed from the company’s focus on long-term housing retention and data-driven outcomes, which she views as essential for modern health payers.
