These modifications extend the circuit to 1.5 miles and increase the total number of track configurations to 11. Designed by Tilke Engineers & Architects—the firm behind Formula 1 circuits in Austin and Bahrain—the new layout aims to preserve the character of the original 2004 circuit while introducing modern technical demands.

Autobahn Country Club Launches Decade-Long Expansion Plan
Joliet’s premier motorsports destination is kicking off a $3 million upgrade to its North Track, marking the inaugural project of a ten-year development strategy dubbed Drive to 2035. The expansion adds a half-mile of technical track, signaling a shift toward greater circuit versatility for the club’s 1,700-strong member community.
Tim O'Donnell, CEO of Autobahn, noted that the investment enhances the club's ability to host racing events and driver training programs. This project serves as the foundation for broader improvements across the 330-acre Illinois campus. The facility currently supports a diverse ecosystem, including the Autobahn Driver Academy, karting circuits, and an off-road center powered by Toyota. The updated North Track is scheduled for a formal unveiling on October 7, 2026, followed by its competitive debut during the OktoberFast weekend from October 16–18.
