Once the camera is pointed at the vehicle's wiper arm, the AI recognizes the hardware and displays a tailored, step-by-step walkthrough. This eliminates the need for manual searches through generic videos or trial-and-error assembly, targeting a common point of friction in routine vehicle maintenance.

Rain-X Launches AI-Powered App to Simplify Wiper Blade Installation
Fifty-six percent of U.S. drivers struggle with the complexities of changing wiper blades, often fumbling with confusing manuals and mismatched adapters. To address this, Rain-X has launched an AI-driven web application that uses smartphone camera vision to identify specific wiper arms and provide instant, personalized installation instructions for millions of vehicles.
"Installing wiper blades shouldn't require a mechanic's knowledge or a frustrating trial-and-error process," said Soroor Rahnama, Head of Marketing at Rain-X. The platform currently supports 220 million vehicle applications, covering 93% of cars on the road. After an initial rollout in late August, the system will be available across all Rain-X programs by the end of this year. The company plans to expand the app's functionality before 2027 to include a complete removal and installation walkthrough.
