Motorola Solutions Acquires AI Video Analytics Firm DeepNeuronic
Motorola Solutions has acquired the Portuguese AI startup DeepNeuronic, integrating its real-time video analytics software into the Avigilon security platform. The deal, facilitated by investment bank Young America Capital, brings the 17-person DeepNeuronic team into the global fold while maintaining their base in the city of Covilhã.
Peter Formanek, CEO of Young America Capital, noted that the startup’s existing commercial traction made it an attractive target for acquisition. Ran Zfoni, who led the advisory team for the founders, emphasized that a primary objective during negotiations was ensuring the team remained in its home city. Legal counsel for the transaction was provided by Cuatrecasas, with partner Vasco Bivar de Azevedo leading the firm's team. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
