By utilizing X-Rite’s spectral measurement tools, the system allows packaging teams to validate color appearance on actual containers before entering full-scale production.

CanJET Ecosystem Streamlines Metal Packaging Color Approvals
X-Rite Pantone, Sun Chemical, and CMA Imaging have launched the CanJET digital proofing ecosystem in North America, offering a new method for beverage brands to achieve precise color and opacity matching directly on metal cans, replacing traditional, time-consuming pilot-line prototyping.
Gerardo Cerros, founder and CEO of CMA Imaging, noted that the platform addresses the inherent difficulty of matching both color and opacity on reflective surfaces. By moving this process into a connected digital environment, brands can reduce repetitive sampling and accelerate design cycles. KCP Connexion, a global design firm, has already adopted the workflow to facilitate color research and improve collaboration with brand owners. The companies are showcasing the technology at the IMDPA Annual Conference in Itasca, Illinois, through October 1, 2026.
