The Baltimore hub, launched in partnership with Johns Hopkins Health System, aims to process discarded polypropylene and polyethylene into raw materials for new healthcare-grade products.
Paul Sessions, VP of Recycling at Caracal, noted that the company is positioning itself to support healthcare organizations aiming for full material circularity. The site currently manages inventory through 100 pallet positions and serves as an administrative base for regional staff. This expansion mirrors Caracal’s existing footprint in New York and Charlotte, with further East Coast locations planned as health systems demand more robust disposal alternatives.
