Vietnam Waste Solutions to Deploy Industrial Drones for Odor Control

Pending final flight permits and personnel certification, the company expects to begin regular operations in October 2026. The initiative will utilize DJI Agras T100 industrial UAVs to spray biological treatment products across active landfill cells and odor-sensitive zones. This automated approach aims to neutralize contaminants and disinfect surfaces from the air, replacing manual labor that currently requires workers to handle chemicals in close proximity to waste.

Company leadership reports that drone-based spraying is projected to be 50 to 70 times faster than traditional ground methods, capable of treating tens of thousands of square meters in minutes. By shifting to remotely piloted technology, the facility expects to increase labor productivity while significantly reducing employee exposure to hazardous materials. The Da Phuoc site, which handles over 50 percent of Ho Chi Minh City’s daily municipal waste, previously demonstrated the efficiency of this model during trial flights where a single operator replaced the work of six manual laborers.
