Terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, but the move signals a strategic consolidation of security resources for TRG. Fentron brings a specialized portfolio to the table, including ransomware readiness, vulnerability management, and incident response preparedness. These services will now augment Inversion6’s existing framework, supporting clients across the manufacturing, healthcare, government, and financial sectors.

TRG Acquires Fentron to Bolster Inversion6 Cybersecurity Division
Westerville-based cybersecurity firm Fentron has been acquired by TRG, a global managed services provider backed by Gemspring Capital. The deal integrates Fentron’s advisory expertise and engineering talent directly into Inversion6, the cybersecurity arm of the Cleveland-based company, aiming to enhance security services across the entire enterprise endpoint lifecycle.

Sean Kennedy, CEO of TRG, highlighted the technical depth of the Westerville team as a primary driver for the merger. Josh Fenton, who leads Fentron, noted that the transition provides his staff with the scale and resources of a larger organization while maintaining the hands-on advisory model their clients have relied on. By absorbing Fentron, TRG continues its strategy of expanding from device procurement and repair into a more robust, end-to-end security provider.
