The Dominguez Firm Names Fall 2026 Scholarship Recipients

Ruth Tessema, who earned a degree in Political Science cum laude, will attend American University Washington College of Law. Her drive stems from a childhood spent navigating bureaucratic systems for her immigrant family and witnessing injustices abroad. During her time at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she led the NAACP chapter and served as an At-Large Senator in Student Government. She views the award as vital relief for the pressures of being a first-generation law student.

Indica Garcia, currently attending College of the Canyons, represents the Collegiate Scholar recipient. Her path has been defined by overcoming significant family tragedy, an experience that fueled her desire to protect others through the justice system. Garcia intends to complete her bachelor’s degree before transitioning into a career as a prosecutor. For both recipients, the financial support serves as a bridge toward professional roles dedicated to community advocacy and legal representation.
