FedMSB Launches National Digital Dollar Committee for AmeriUSD

The Federal Money Services Business Association has launched the National Digital Dollar Committee to spearhead the development of AmeriUSD, a digital infrastructure project aimed at modernizing American payment, remittance, and settlement systems through a unified, industry-led framework for non-bank financial services.

FedMSB Launches National Digital Dollar Committee for AmeriUSD

The committee acts as a central coordination body within the FedMSB ecosystem, uniting money services businesses, fintech firms, and traditional financial institutions. By establishing this group, the association seeks to build a scalable infrastructure layer that ensures interoperability between legacy financial networks and emerging digital payment technologies.

Operational oversight will be handled alongside the existing Stablecoin Standards Authority. While the Authority focuses on technical governance and transparency, the new committee will manage institutional requirements, including AML and KYC compliance, cybersecurity protocols, and digital asset custody. This strategy is a core component of the broader MSB 2.0 initiative, which aims to integrate non-bank financial services more tightly into the national dollar payment network. Initial committee members and participation frameworks are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
