Shanghai Launches Bondless Flavors Culinary Season
A parade of boats drifting through the canals of Panlong Ancient Town marked the start of the Bondless Flavors season on September 29. The final chapter of this year’s Global Taste in Shanghai campaign shifts the focus to integrating international cuisine with the city’s major tourism and sporting events.
Authorities also debuted the Shanghai Global Food Landmark Guide, designating seven specific locations as premier culinary hubs. Xintiandi and EKA Tianwu earned recognition as neighborhood landmarks, while major shopping centers including the Bund Finance Center and Global Harbor were flagged as mall-based destinations. Autumn programming remains packed: the Shanghai Museum will host an Americas-themed night market from October 1 to 7, while the Xujiahui commercial area launches a sequence of festivals celebrating noodles, burgers, and desserts through early November.
