Avisi Technologies to Unveil Two-Year Glaucoma Trial Results
Two years of clinical data from the VITA trial will take center stage at the 2026 American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Jonathan S. Myers is set to present findings on the efficacy and safety of the VisiPlate aqueous shunt, an ultrathin device designed for long-term glaucoma management.
Beyond the primary trial data, Avisi Technologies will host additional programming at booth #1255 on October 10. These sessions include a technical discussion on the device's metamaterial design and surgical implementation, featuring a panel of experts such as Dr. Eydie Miller-Ellis, president of the American Glaucoma Society, and Dr. Joseph Panarelli of NYC Retina. The VisiPlate device utilizes redundant microchannels to address common surgical failures like scarring and occlusion, aiming to provide a more durable alternative to traditional glaucoma interventions.
