The trail represents a collaborative effort between ChoiceOne Bank and the LAFF Pathway to improve local infrastructure. According to ChoiceOne President Michael J. Burke, Jr., the initiative aims to encourage outdoor activity while fostering deeper connections between the unique communities along the route. Vice President Danielle Chateauvert noted that the bank’s sponsorship reflects a long-term strategy of investing in the physical accessibility of the areas where the company operates.

ChoiceOne Bank Opens New Trail Segment in Fenton
A ribbon-cutting ceremony held Tuesday at the intersection of Silver Lake and Jennings roads marked the official opening of the ChoiceOne Bank Trail. The project serves as a key link in the Genesee County Legacy Trails network, a broader effort to connect over 200 miles of nonmotorized paths across the region.
This development aligns with the Genesee County five-year strategic trails plan, which seeks to integrate 23 communities, 151 parks, and 89 schools into a single, accessible system. Once finished, the network is projected to bring over 180,000 residents within one mile of a trail. ChoiceOne Financial Services, based in Sparta, manages approximately $4.4 billion in assets and continues to expand its local community footprint through these infrastructure partnerships.
