KAWS Reimagines the Iconic Absolut Vodka Bottle

Brooklyn-based artist KAWS has teamed up with Absolut Vodka to transform the brand's classic apothecary-style bottle into a canvas for his signature visual language. The limited-edition release, unveiled in New York, features the artist’s famous "XX" motif and CHUM character, bridging the gap between high-end spirits and contemporary street art.

The collaboration marks the latest chapter in Absolut’s decades-long history of artist partnerships, a legacy that began in 1985 with Andy Warhol. KAWS, born Brian Donnelly, drew inspiration for the project from a specially commissioned painting that now adorns the back of the bottle. By placing his work on a widely distributed consumer object, the artist aims to fulfill his career-long goal of bringing art into everyday spaces where it can be encountered by a broad audience rather than confined to galleries.

Caroline Begley, U.S. Vice President of Marketing for Absolut, described the bottle as a cultural statement piece designed to function equally well as a collector's item or a centerpiece at social gatherings. The project continues the brand's tradition of challenging consumer perspectives, following a history that has seen over 550 artists contribute more than 850 works to the Absolut collection. The new edition, bottled at 40% ABV, is available for pre-order starting October 1, 2026, through the brand's website before arriving at select U.S. retailers.
