OSCP Secures Series A Funding to Scale Photonic Navigation Tech

Navigation failures once confined to the battlefield are now disrupting global shipping lanes and civilian airports, driving demand for resilient alternatives. To meet this shift, Montréal-based OSCP has closed a Series A financing round led by New Science Ventures to accelerate the production of its ITAR-free photonic inertial sensors.

The capital injection will allow OSCP to expand its engineering and sales operations in Montréal while pushing its next generation of photonic gyroscopes to market. These sensors provide tactical-grade accuracy without relying on GNSS, addressing a critical vulnerability in autonomous platforms across defense, marine, and robotics sectors. Somu Subramaniam, founder of New Science Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors to support this growth.

Since closing the round in August, the firm has rapidly integrated its technology into broader ecosystems, including the launch of its NavigationGate system and the addition of ROS 2 drivers for its MK2 IMU family. The company has also secured a position on Canada’s Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace, signaling its transition from a specialized developer to a scalable supplier for mission-critical navigation.
