Datarails Expands FinanceOS Beyond Excel to Google Sheets

Finance teams relying on Google Workspace can now access Datarails’ AI-driven planning and reporting tools directly within their spreadsheets. The New York-based company, which previously focused on Excel, is extending its FinanceOS platform to provide a unified, governed data layer for organizations regardless of their preferred software environment.

Datarails Expands FinanceOS Beyond Excel to Google Sheets

The integration allows users to build financial models using native Datarails formulas while maintaining a single, auditable source of truth. By embedding a formula-building panel and table management tools directly into the interface, the platform ensures that figures remain live and responsive to underlying data updates. Users can apply global filters and custom columns that persist through refreshes, while the familiar Google Sheets environment supports real-time collaboration, commenting, and presence tracking.

CEO Didi Gurfinkel stated that the expansion is not intended to force a choice between spreadsheet providers but to ensure that financial output remains accurate and governed across the CFO's office. By drilling into specific cells, teams can verify the origin of any number without leaving the workbook, effectively bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights. This native support is available immediately to existing Datarails customers, marking a shift toward a platform-agnostic approach for corporate financial planning and analysis.
