Addy Graves, CEO of the research platform Cashew, notes that the current cultural openness around menopause remains surface-level. Despite the accessibility of information, a clear disconnect persists between being informed and feeling equipped. The data highlights a generational divide in confidence: only 46% of Gen Z women feel well-informed about the transition, trailing significantly behind the 63% of Boomers who report higher levels of preparedness.
The medical sector remains the primary point of contact, yet the burden of initiation falls on the patient. Nearly one-third of women who have discussed the topic with a healthcare provider had to raise the issue themselves. Patients are now signaling a clear preference for proactive clinical engagement, specifically requesting that providers include routine menopause screening questions during standard checkups.
