The new hardware addresses a specific pain point for enthusiasts: the need for high-fidelity imagery on large, sometimes curved, impact screens. With 6,000 ANSI lumens and 97% Rec. 709 color coverage, the projectors utilize Golf Mode 2.0 to enhance textures like fairway grass and bunker shadows. Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ, noted that the company spent years researching the simulator ecosystem to identify the subtle visual cues that distinguish a realistic course from a flat digital projection.
Installation complexity, often a barrier for home users, is mitigated through automated tools. The Auto Screen Fit 2.0 system uses integrated sensors to detect screen geometry, adjusting the output for flat or curved surfaces without manual intervention. Additional features like Ambient Visual Enhancer adjust for changing room light, while new aspect ratio options—including 5:4 and 3:2—accommodate various screen dimensions.
