MiniCo Opens Specialized Industrial Casualty Trading Desk

Phoenix-based MiniCo Insurance Agency has launched a dedicated industrial casualty trading desk in partnership with Lloyd’s of London, creating a centralized hub for specialty industrial risk placements across the United States to tackle long-standing market fragmentation and capacity shortages for wholesale brokers.

The new facility provides a single point of access for complex placements, focusing on general, excess, and railroad protective liability. By streamlining the underwriting process, the firm aims to reduce the friction typically associated with the excess and surplus market. The program currently operates in 48 states, excluding only New York and West Virginia, and utilizes non-admitted A+ (XV) rated paper to back its offerings.

John Ware, Senior Vice President of Casualty, described the desk as a purpose-built solution designed to address a segment of the insurance industry that has historically been underserved. According to MiniCo President of Specialty Programs Rick Krouner, the initiative aligns with the agency's 50-year history of identifying gaps in the market and developing tailored capacity where options were previously unavailable. The desk offers competitive wholesale commissions and low minimum premium requirements to attract brokers looking for specialized coverage for unique industrial exposures.
