OLLY Debuts Mochi Bites to Disrupt the Supplement Aisle

Eleven years after turning gummies into a household staple, San Francisco-based OLLY is attempting to reshape the vitamin market again. The company is launching Mochi Bites, a soft, glutinous rice-based supplement format, banking on a 45% surge in TikTok interest for mochi-related products to drive its latest wellness expansion.

The new product line arrives at Target stores and OLLY.com with four initial formulas: Beauty, Sleep, Multi, and Energy. Designed over a three-year development cycle, the bites prioritize a "benefit-forward" profile, containing less than 1g of sugar per serving while remaining vegan and gluten-free. Chief Product Officer Punam Patel describes the rollout as a fusion of evidence-based ingredients and a sensory-focused delivery system.

To build momentum, OLLY is deploying a high-touch marketing push centered in New York City. The strategy includes a two-day experiential event at Hudson Yards on October 29-30 and a mobile Airstream sampling tour. The brand has also secured a partnership with nail care company Chillhouse to create themed press-on nails, emphasizing the lifestyle-oriented branding typically reserved for beauty products rather than traditional supplements. Each 30-day supply retails for $17.99, featuring distinct flavor profiles like Starfruit Slumber and Tropical Passionfruit.
