A graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, he completed his residency at BronxCare Health System—where he served as Chief Resident—and finished a specialized glaucoma fellowship at the Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois Chicago. His clinical portfolio includes recognition for both research and professionalism, notably receiving awards from BronxCare and Northwell Staten Island University Hospital.

Ophthalmologist Jerry D. Hai Joins OCLI Vision in Long Island
OCLI Vision expanded its clinical staff today, adding fellowship-trained ophthalmologist Jerry D. Hai to its roster. Starting October 1, 2026, Dr. Hai will begin treating patients at the practice’s Lake Success and Mineola offices, focusing on the management of glaucoma and complex ocular conditions.
Beyond his surgical expertise, Dr. Hai’s addition enhances the practice's ability to serve a multilingual patient base, as he is proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. He intends to integrate current clinical research into personalized treatment plans for his new patients. Appointments are now being scheduled at the Lake Success facility on Marcus Avenue and the Mineola office on Old Country Road.
