Consil Matrix utilizes amorphous silica-based microfibers designed to mimic an extracellular matrix. This scaffold structure allows veterinarians to manage bleeding and stabilize clots while facilitating tissue repair and vascularization. The product’s multilayered design provides flexibility, enabling practitioners to separate layers to fit irregular wound geometries and maintain a balanced moisture environment.

Nutramax Enters Wound Care Market with Consil Matrix Line
Lancaster-based Nutramax Laboratories Veterinary Sciences is expanding its footprint into advanced wound management with the launch of Consil Matrix and a corresponding topical cream. Developed in partnership with SiOxMed, the new products target a range of clinical needs in dogs, cats, and horses through silica-based technology.
Todd Henderson, DVM, President and CEO of Nutramax, noted that the product addresses the logistical challenges inherent in veterinary wound care. By incorporating this technology, the company aims to broaden its support for veterinary professionals beyond its established portfolio of joint, liver, and digestive health supplements. Alongside the matrix, the company released Consil Matrix Topical Cream, a fragrance-free, non-medicated solution intended for routine skin conditioning and moisture maintenance in companion animals and equines.
