Founded in 1978, Woodward Machine Corporation built its reputation on precision power steering racks and proprietary servovalve systems, manufacturing its components entirely in-house. Under the terms of the acquisition, the company will rebrand as WMC Manufacturing LLC and maintain its existing operations in Casper, Wyoming. The transition aims to merge Woodward’s specialized engineering capabilities with the broader retail and distribution network of Heintz Performance.

Heintz Performance Acquires NASCAR Steering Supplier Woodward Machine
A three-decade partnership between two industry stalwarts has culminated in a formal transition, as Concord-based Heintz Performance Inc. completes its acquisition of Wyoming-based Woodward Machine Corporation. The deal, facilitated by Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, secures the future of a firm that has served as the exclusive steering supplier for the NASCAR Cup Series since 1995.

Tony Woodward, who founded the company alongside Gloria Woodward, noted the importance of preserving the relationships cultivated within the racing community over the last 48 years. Scott Heintz, owner of the acquiring firm, indicated that the integration will focus on scaling Woodward’s established manufacturing footprint while retaining its specialized workforce. Jeff Edge of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions managed the sale, which concludes a long-standing collaborative history between the two automotive entities.
