Sigo Seguros Opens Insurance Buying to ChatGPT and Grok

Texas drivers can now purchase auto insurance directly through AI agents like ChatGPT and Grok, as Sigo Seguros launches a specialized Model Context Protocol server. While some industry competitors move to block AI bots from scraping their data, Sigo is integrating them into the core transaction process to streamline policy acquisition.

The new system allows users to secure quotes and finalize policies without ever visiting a website or completing manual forms. By utilizing the Model Context Protocol, the AI agents receive structured data including coverage limits, deductibles, and state-mandated disclosures rather than simply scraping raw text. According to Sigo founder and CEO Néstor Hugo Solari, this approach shifts the power dynamic toward the consumer by providing transparent, real-time comparisons that standard online brokerages often obscure.

To encourage wider adoption, Sigo has launched InsuranceMCP.com, an open directory designed for insurance carriers and agencies to list their own MCP servers. The company aims to standardize how AI assistants interact with the insurance market, arguing that firms resisting this transition will eventually lose their competitive edge. The service is live now for selected carrier partners, with the firm actively expanding its network to ensure that AI-driven shopping becomes a primary channel for policyholders.
