Chr. Olesen Synthesis operates a cGMP-certified facility near Copenhagen that has maintained commercial production since 2015. The company focuses on the development and manufacturing of complex active pharmaceutical ingredients, specifically those utilized in treatments for opioid use disorder and ADHD. Its products currently reach pharmaceutical markets across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

Following the acquisition, Thomas Moestrup will remain as Chief Executive and continue to invest in the business alongside Samfara. Jean-François Hilaire, formerly of Unither and Recipharm, is set to join the company as Chair of the board. Samfara partners Helena Malchione and James Cocker stated that the acquisition aligns with their strategy of targeting high-potential companies in complex pharmaceutical niches. The new ownership intends to scale the business through both organic growth and potential future acquisitions.
