Roland Foods Acquires Savor Brands in Strategic Dot Foods Partnership

A major consolidation is reshaping the food supply chain as New York-based Roland Foods acquires Savor Brands from Dot Foods. The deal, which includes Dot Foods taking an equity stake in Roland, aims to merge Roland’s extensive global ingredient portfolio with Dot’s massive North American distribution infrastructure.

Under the terms of the agreement, Roland Foods will absorb Savor Brands, expanding its catalog to include frozen goods and a wider array of international ingredients. In exchange, Dot Foods—the largest less-than-truckload consolidator in the industry—will gain an equity interest in Roland and secure a commercial contract to handle the distribution of both Roland and Savor product lines across its nationwide network.

Keith Dougherty, CEO of Roland Foods, noted that the partnership is designed to simplify procurement for customers who rely on their fine food offerings. The integration is expected to be fully operational by early 2027. For now, the three entities will maintain their current independent operations, with no immediate changes to existing customer contracts, order terms, or service agreements. Vestar Capital Partners, the private equity firm backing Roland, characterized the deal as a natural evolution for the business, citing the decade-long relationship between the companies as the foundation for the move. Financial details of the transaction remain confidential.
