The project represents a three-month collaboration between the fast-casual chain and the five-member musical group. Because fresh produce changes moisture and texture rapidly, the musicians faced a narrow window for success. Each instrument had to be carved and played at peak ripeness, often remaining functional for less than a day before the sound quality shifted. This volatility became a core component of the recording process, with musicians adapting their performance to the specific acoustic properties of individual bell peppers and avocado pits.

Chipotle Records Original Track Using Vegetable Instruments at Abbey Road
At London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, the London Vegetable Orchestra recently bypassed traditional synthesizers to record a new track titled "From Ground to Sound." The composition features an unusual ensemble of flutes made from corn, jalapeño trumpets, and percussion crafted from lettuce, all sourced from Chipotle’s standard restaurant inventory.

Fernando Machado, Chief Brand Officer at Chipotle, noted that the project aims to link the brand's identity to its raw ingredients through an unconventional medium. The resulting track, produced by Beacon Street Studios, was designed to highlight the natural variety of the 53 real ingredients used in the company's kitchens. Fans can now stream the song on major platforms, which serves as a departure from typical corporate sound branding by relying entirely on perishable, organic materials.
