Holland America Prepares for 80th Anniversary Season in Alaska

Following a 2026 season defined by significant community investment and expanded culinary programming, Holland America Line is shifting focus toward its 80th anniversary in Alaska. The cruise operator plans to mark the milestone in 2027 with new itineraries and major upgrades to its proprietary lodge facilities near Denali National Park.

Six ships will service the region from April through September 2027, including the return of the 28-day Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice voyage. The line is also introducing an eight-day Alaska Inside Passage itinerary. These additions are designed to leverage the company’s eight decades of regional expertise, which now includes curated shore excursions and exclusive inland access through its Denali Lodge.

Expansion efforts at the Denali property are set for completion in 2027, adding 72 rooms and a refreshed main lodge. This infrastructure investment follows a year where the company donated over $320,000 to local organizations, including the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and various community groups in Ketchikan and Juneau. According to company president Beth Bodensteiner, the upcoming anniversary serves as an opportunity to deepen the relationship between the cruise line and the communities that host its passengers.
