Playseat Marks Three Decades of Redefining Racing Simulation
Thirty years after Fernando Smit built the first prototype in 1996, Doetinchem-based Playseat is evolving its legacy beyond the track. The company that invented the home racing cockpit category is now expanding its simulation footprint into flight and heavy-duty machinery while preparing to launch its next-generation Evolution 2 cockpit.

Looking ahead, the company is moving to diversify its catalog. The upcoming Evolution 2 cockpit aims to refine the ergonomics established by its predecessor, focusing on versatility and expandability for both amateur and professional users. According to founder Fernando Smit, the firm intends to maintain this market momentum by applying its Dutch-engineered, patented design philosophy to new simulation categories, specifically targeting the flight and farming hardware markets later this year.
