Fresh Express Expands Salad Lineup with Two Restaurant-Inspired Kits

Moving to transform standard greens into a destination meal, Fresh Express is launching two bold chopped salad kits this October. The new Roasted Poblano Caesar and Fire-Roasted Queso Crunch varieties aim to bridge the gap between grocery store convenience and the complex flavor profiles typically found in restaurant dishes.

The Roasted Poblano Caesar offers a spicy departure from traditional preparations, pairing romaine lettuce with a peppery poblano dressing, sweet corn, cotija cheese, and tri-colored tortilla strips. Meanwhile, the Fire-Roasted Queso Crunch draws inspiration from loaded nachos, combining chopped greens with a velvety queso-style dressing, a rich taco cheese blend, and additional tortilla crunch. These additions are designed to serve as standalone meals or as accompaniments to proteins like grilled chicken.

Fabian Pereira, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation at Fresh Express, noted that the goal is to shift consumer perception of salads from a routine chore to a meal worth anticipating. The company develops these concepts at its Streamwood, Illinois, Innovation Center, where culinary experts analyze restaurant trends to validate new product ideas. The kits will be available at retailers nationwide starting in October 2026, marking the latest effort by the brand to maintain relevance in the competitive packaged produce category.
