The new Analytical Services division consolidates sample collection, point-of-care testing, and multivariate data analysis into a single contract. By removing the need to coordinate multiple vendors, Detect-ION aims to standardize protocols across diverse studies, ranging from breath and aerosol analysis to environmental and agricultural monitoring. The service tier structure includes field-ready CLARION sensors, routine Shimadzu TD-GC-MS analysis, and high-precision Agilent TD-GC-HRMS for discovery-grade confirmation.

Detect-ION Opens Proprietary Volatilomics Lab to External Research
Tampa-based Detect-ION is shifting its business model by offering its internal volatilomics laboratory and high-resolution mass spectrometry infrastructure to outside collaborators. The move grants academic, clinical, and government partners access to the same diagnostic pipelines previously reserved for the company’s own national security and clinical research projects.

Ashish Chaudhary, founder and CEO of Detect-ION, noted that the laboratory was originally built to solve the company’s internal challenges in chemical threat detection and clinical diagnostics. He emphasized that the value proposition lies in the full pipeline—turning thousands of raw features into defensible data. While these services are currently restricted to research and development, they provide a bridge for partners to integrate with Detect-ION’s future hardware product lines. The company, which has received backing from agencies including DARPA and the Gates Foundation, maintains a 4,000-square-foot facility in Florida that handles everything from IRB submission support to complex volatile organic compound identification.
