Virginia Housing CEO Tammy Neale Named 2026 Women in Leadership Honoree

Tammy Neale, the chief executive of Virginia Housing, has been named a 2026 Women in Leadership honoree by Virginia Business. This accolade recognizes her professional achievements and civic contributions, marking her second consecutive year receiving the award and earning her a place among the inaugural Rising Circle class.

Virginia Housing CEO Tammy Neale Named 2026 Women in Leadership Honoree

Neale assumed the role of CEO in March 2024 after serving as Chief of Programs, where she managed homeownership, rental, and federal initiatives. Her leadership currently guides the agency’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. According to Richard Foster, associate publisher of Virginia Business, the selection highlights executives who act as mentors while driving systemic change across the Commonwealth.

Reflecting on the honor, Neale credited the broader team at Virginia Housing for the agency's ability to fulfill its mission. The organization, which functions without state taxpayer funding by raising capital through market investments, has spent over 50 years focusing on affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization. The honorees were celebrated during an event in Richmond on October 6.
