Herbs, Etc. Debuts Liquid-Filled Herbal Gummies After 57 Years

After nearly six decades of producing fresh plant extracts, Santa Fe-based Herbs, Etc. is shifting its delivery method. The company has launched two infused gummy supplements, Deep Sleep and Daily Peace, marking a departure from traditional tinctures by offering a liquid-filled center designed to nourish the nervous system rather than merely sedate it.

The new product line addresses a growing fatigue among consumers who have spent years attempting to optimize their stress and sleep levels through complex regimens. According to company president Dan Coyle, the goal was not to add complexity, but to integrate their established herbal formulas into a format that fits naturally into a daily routine. Both the cherry-flavored Deep Sleep and the mixed-berry Daily Peace are vegan and gluten-free, eschewing artificial sweeteners in favor of fresh milky oats.

This specific ingredient serves as the foundation for both formulas. Harvested during a narrow seasonal window when the seed releases a milky latex, these oats are extracted fresh rather than dried, a process the company claims is essential for efficacy. The Deep Sleep blend features a combination of California Poppy, Valerian Root, Passionflower, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, and Reishi mushroom, while the daytime Daily Peace formula incorporates a mix of five mushrooms, including Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps. Sara Steinbeck, the company's director of sales and marketing, noted that a single gummy provides a dose equivalent to one and a half standard softgels, a potency she attributes to the fresh extraction process. The products are currently available at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and independent retailers nationwide.
